About the event
I have seen advertised by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust to display classic cars at the Halloween Howl, taking place at Doncaster Sheffield Airport on Saturday 31st October 2026.
Halloween Howl is shaping up to be a fantastic day at the airport, bringing together classic and military vehicles, heritage organisations, displays, characters and attractions, all centred around Vulcan XH558.
Our entry will get to experience Vulcan XH558’s Engine Ground Run, including the unforgettable howl of her four Rolls-Royce Olympus engines, from the designated event viewing area.
There is a growing line-up attending, including representatives and displays from organisations such as the South Yorkshire Military Vehicle Trust, South Yorkshire Transport Museum, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Plant Fit, alongside UK Garrison, Rebel Legion, Yorkshire Ghostbusters, Charity Dalek Squad and others.
Canberra WK163 will also be on static display during the event.
The organisers are now looking to build a really impressive vehicle display and would love to welcome vehicles from our club / group.
One of the more unusual aspects of the event is that the classic vehicles will be displayed on the main airport apron at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, giving owners the opportunity to display their vehicles in a unique setting.
Please note that the classic vehicle display is a separate area from Vulcan XH558, and vehicles will not be positioned alongside or close to the Vulcan.
They are asking for a donation of:
£30 per vehicle – including the vehicle and driver
£5 for each additional passenger
This includes entry to Halloween Howl and the opportunity to experience the Vulcan Engine Ground Run.
All donations will go towards supporting the work of Vulcan to the Sky Trust, helping them to care for Vulcan XH558 and continue their heritage and education activities.
Halloween Howl will be promoted across their supporter network and social media channels, giving participating clubs and vehicles the opportunity to be part of one of their biggest events of the year.
To register an interest, for each vehicle, I need to provide:
Owner's name
Vehicle make and model
Approximate year
Registration number
Club/group name
Number of additional passengers
A photograph of the vehicle if possible
The organiser has said that if there are a few / several of us who would like to attend, they will take a group booking and make every effort to ensure we can all be parked together to create a dedicated club display on the airport apron.
Further details covering arrival times, airport access and display arrangements will be sent closer to the event.
It would be great to see as many classic and interesting vehicles as possible filling the airport apron and help create a memorable Halloween Howl.
If anyone is interested, RSVP and I will contact them and make all the arrangements.
